The 2019 season has been one of new beginnings and hardships for the Baltimore Orioles. Among a vastly new team that is in the early stages of a rebuild, with a current record to back that up, is one consistent positive thus far. John Means.

Twenty-six year old lefty John Means has shown himself as a hidden gem in the Orioles starting rotation. Means has pitched in 17 games this season, tossing 75.2 innings pitched with a good record of 7-4 for the rookie. John Means currently has an ERA of 2.50

John Means was signed by the Orioles back in 2014 and has slowly climbed the ladder to reach the Orioles in 2018. After one start in late September, Means was sent back down to the minors and wouldn’t see the majors again until March 31st 2019.

All Oriole fans are happy and proud to see their rookie starting pitcher as their representation in this years mid summer classic. Although most people believe it would be Trey Mancini who would represent the Orioles, there’s no one else more deserving than the rookie pitcher John Means who has found himself a spot on the team that has built him for the last five years.

Make sure not to miss John Means representing the Orioles in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9th in the All-Star game!
